We are Rich and Jan Godinez, Baptist missionaries to the country of Paraguay, South America. We are sent out of Victory Baptist Church in Longview, TX, Pastor Bob Page. God has called us to bring the gospel to the lost and needy people of Paraguay. John 15:16 " Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

God has directed us to Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay.  Asuncion and its surrounding suberbs total a population approaching 3 million souls.  Most of these people have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and are led astray by false doctrines and religions. Paraguay is the least evangelized country in all of South America.

During a recent visit to Paraguay, Janet and I personally passed out over 5000 gospel tracts.  Paraguayans are open to the gospel.  Our primary goal is to establish indigenous, fundamental, Bible believing Baptist churches through prayer, door to door visitation, street preaching, passing out gospel tracts, and Bible studies.

God has called me to be a church planter in Paraguay, not a pastor in Paraguay. The Bible pattern for a missionary is exemplified in the apostle Paul.  A missionary is called by God and sent out by the local church.  A missionary plants churches and train nationals to assume the role of Pastor.  Once the church has a national Pastor, we will move on to plant new works as the Lord leads and allows.

The Lord has clearly showed us the need to establish a Bible Institute to perpetuate training and preparation of Paraguayan nationals for ministry and service.  The Lord has provided a well-defined, proven, doctrinally sound curriculum that is ready to be used. It is our goal to plant a Bible Institute within Asuncion.

Janet is certified to teach English as a second language (TESL).  She will be offering English classes as an outreach to teach Paraguayans about the Lord Jesus Christ.  Her book, offered on the TESL page of this website, includes lessons and worksheets that use Biblical concepts and verse memorization worksheets.
